● What counts as money in the Nexus?
There is no physical money to speak of. All of your wealth is calculated in credits. These are stored on your NCD and can only be accessed by the owner of that device.
● So how do I pay for things?
Contactless technology. A little like how we can wave our credit cards over a reader and pay like that, you can hold your NCD over a carved stone or piece of wood with a mystical symbol on it. Every stall or shop will have one and that charges the amount in credits that you owe.
● How do I earn credits?
You can do many different things; the employment page is here. You can also open a business once you have been in-game long enough to gather together the credits and/or stocks you need to begin.
● Can my character take out loans?
No, unless they are arranged between two player characters. There are no real financial institutions as such, the Temples oversee any transactions that require it.
● My character wants to eschew money and live off of the land. Can they do that?
They can do that! The homes inside of the Temples will give you free meals in return for helping them in the gardens and around the Temple. Homes outside of the Temples will all be stocked with vegetables, grain and seeds to get you started.
● As a guide, what sorts of prices would things be?
A loaf of bread would be one credit, a pair of nice shoes would be ten credits and a fishing skiff would be a hundred credits. On this sort of sliding scale credits can be based, we do not worry too much about exact costs and how much the character has in their NCD as long as it is realistic.
